LOCAL STORYTELLING

Local stories, told by local photographers

We are bringing together an international network of talented, professional photographers and filmmakers to visit the work of our partner charities, sharing the stories of their communities and bringing them to life through their lenses.

There are so many talented local photographers in the countries we have visited, yet it is often international photographers that are flown in by charities. In-country photographers understand the communities and culture much better than we ever will.

Taking Pictures, Changing Lives are:

  • Enabling our team to work within their own and neighbouring countries. Cutting down on international plane travel and carbon emissions.

  • Creating jobs for new photographers, writers and filmmakers. Feeding skills and money back into local communities.

  • Giving a platform for the voices of the people helped by our partner charities to celebrate their successes and share the stories of their lives, families and communities being transformed.

We’ve been working with photographers around the world for 15 years now, and are well positioned to step into the gap that international travel restrictions have created. Our model of networking with photographers, filmmakers and storytellers around the world is working and we are ready to fulfil the increasing need for professional, high-quality media that charities have.
